Kolkata: Coal India Limited has announced its provisional coal production and offtake performance for the month of March 2026 and for the financial year April 2025–March 2026, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
March 2026 Performance Overview
Coal India reported total coal production of 84.5 million tonnes (MT) in March 2026, compared with 85.8 MT in March 2025, reflecting a marginal year-on-year decline of 1.5%.
Subsidiary-wise production for March 2026:
- Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL): 7.4 MT (+4.4%)
- Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL): 4.4 MT (+2.0%)
- Central Coalfields Limited (CCL): 11.9 MT (+1.8%)
- Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL): 11.7 MT (+7.9%)
- Western Coalfields Limited (WCL): 9.1 MT (+3.8%)
- South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL): 19.4 MT (-7.0%)
- Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL): 20.5 MT (-7.5%)
- North Eastern Coalfields (NEC): 0.01 MT
FY26 Production Performance (April 2025 – March 2026)
For the full financial year, Coal India recorded total production of 768.1 MT, compared with 781.1 MT in FY25, representing a 1.7% decline.
Key annual production contributors included:
- MCL: 218.3 MT
- SECL: 176.3 MT
- NCL: 140.5 MT
Offtake Performance
March 2026 Offtake:
Coal offtake stood at 69.5 MT, registering a 0.7% increase compared with the same month last year.
Notable monthly movements:
- SECL: 16.7 MT (+7.5%)
- MCL: 19.6 MT (+8.2%)
- BCCL: 2.7 MT (-24.6%)
- WCL: 5.4 MT (-17.7%)
FY26 Offtake (April 2025 – March 2026):
Total offtake reached 744.8 MT, compared with 763 MT in the previous financial year, reflecting a 2.4% decline.
